Lifespan - thinking beyond "the present"

An interesting approach of thinking "beyond", beyond the present - predicting the future outlook.

Personally, I think this panel has better graphic and layout. The diagrams tell the story.

BEYOND

This panel came 3rd in the competition. Personally, I would say that this panel is not very apealling in terms of its layout and graphic. However, its concept is really strong and seem to distinct from the others. In its introduction, the designer said " The idea of 'trans' is to think beyond; beyond Union Station, beyond how transit works.....beyond the program...beyond purely social interaction" I found this really inspiring. From our previous readings, we all know that a transit hub has the potiential in tranforming the city. But when designing a building, it is really easy for ones to focus on only the building itself and forgotten to think BEYOND. I think we should remind ourself once a while to think BEYOND, beyond...................
